About Us

Increment was founded by Mees Strooker and Ben Cohen, who found each other in their passion for building tools that enable data teams to spend less time on administrative cloud management, and more on making their organisations grow.

By data people, for data people.

When we look at the environment of data today, we believe the following to be true

  1. The cloud is the natural home for data - data is naturally unpredictable in volume and complexity. The scalability of cloud infrastructure makes it the perfect fit
  2. SQL is eating the world (of data) - SQL's dominance as the language for data processing and manipulation is as strong as ever, and it's more often being used as a wrapper around more complex object-oriented language like Spark and Python
  3. Modern cloud data platforms will continue to dominate - The potential of data increases when it is near other data. Modern cloud platforms act like a vortex, continuously sucking up new data sources, and serving as the compute engine behind a large variety of data applications.

Modern data cloud platforms, like Snowflake and GCP BigQuery, have revolutionised the data landscape, offering limitless scalability and user-friendly interfaces. They've ushered in a new era where data science and its applications are more accessible than ever.

However, this convenience comes at a cost. Even top-tier teams struggle with spiraling expenses, inefficient data models, and stockpiles of unused datasets that add unnecessary costs.

Increment was founded to tackle these challenges head-on.

We empower data organisations with detailed insights, practical recommendations, and expert support to make the most out of their platform investments.
